For Autumn Winter 2023 Emilia Wickstead explores the tension between the familiar and the surreal in David Lynch’s drama series, Twin Peaks (1990). The collection marries mid-century, suburban Americana and timeless sensibility with grungy 90’s flannel tailoring and sweaters. Simple staples from decades past are updated and worn with modern ease. Off-kilter colour combinations are used to exude sartorial prowess on a teenage journey. The disturbing and the ordinary meld with an undercurrent of rebellious sensuality. A new sense of style, meeting the everyday with something more elevated and dream-like. Wonderful and strange.
