Bridal Terms and Conditions

BRIDAL PURCHASES

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all purchases of bridal and bespoke garments from Emilia Wickstead Limited (“we”, “us”, or “Emilia Wickstead”), whether purchased in-store, via email or through an online payment link.

By placing an order, the client ("you", "your", or "Client") agrees to be bound by the Terms below.


 

1. Definitions

·         Bridal Collection: Standard bridal garments available to order in fixed sizes or with basic alterations.

·         Demi-Bespoke: Customised versions of standard Emilia Wickstead bridal designs (e.g. design tweaks, fabric substitutions).

·         Bespoke: Fully custom-designed garments tailored from scratch to client specifications.

·         Made to Order (MTO): Non-seasonal garments created using standard sizing.

·         Made to Measure Bespoke (MTMB): Made-to-order garments with tailored measurements.


 

2. Ordering & Payment Methods

2.1 Online Checkout / Remote Orders
For remote purchases, Emilia Wickstead provides secure online payment links. These are sent via email and allow you to make payment using a debit/credit card or bank transfer.

2.2 Payment Terms by Garment Type

·         Bridal Collection: Full payment is required at the time of order, whether purchased in-store or via payment link.

·         Bespoke & Demi-Bespoke Orders: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the order. The remaining 50% balance is due prior to or upon collection.

2.3 An order is not confirmed until payment has been received and Emilia Wickstead has issued a formal confirmation.


 

3. Lead Times

3.1 Bridal Collection:
All Bridal Collection pieces are made to order, standard lead time is 45 working days from date of order to completion. Any alterations are carried out after this period requiring an additional 10 working days minimum.

3.2 Demi-Bespoke:
Production begins after design is approved and deposit is paid. Standard lead time is 85 working days.

3.3 Bespoke:
Production begins after design is approved and deposit is paid. Standard lead time is 110 working days, depending on garment complexity.

3.4 Rush Orders:
Rush options may be available subject to capacity. Additional rush fees apply and will be quoted prior to order confirmation.


 

4. Alterations

4.1 Standard bridal alterations are included in the base price of any garment.

4.2 Emilia Wickstead offers additional alteration services from £90 per hour, subject to availability.

4.3 The client is responsible for attending scheduled fittings and providing timely feedback to ensure timely completion.

4.4 Any work carried out following significant weight loss or due to design changes after the calico stage [Demi-Bespoke and Bespoke orders] or once the order has been placed [Bridal Collection orders] will be charged as additional alterations, specifically where such alterations exceed the parameters of a standard dress size.

4.5 Definition of Standard Dress Size:
For the purposes of alterations, a standard dress size is defined as a size adjustment within the following tolerances:
• Up to 2cm on a UK size 6–8
• Up to 4cm on a UK size 8–10
• Up to 5cm on UK sizes 10 and above

Alterations exceeding these thresholds will be considered outside the scope of a standard dress size and charged accordingly.

4.6 The quoted lead times are contingent upon the client’s adherence to all scheduled fittings and timely provision of feedback. Emilia Wickstead shall not be held liable for any delays in the production or completion of garments arising from missed, cancelled, or rescheduled appointments, or from any failure by the client to engage with the process as required.

 


 

5. Shipping & Delivery

5.1 Emilia Wickstead advises to collect all bridal purchases in person from store. Certain purchases can be shipped only upon request and with prior arrangement.

5.2 Emilia Wickstead is not responsible for:

·         Delays in shipping or customs clearance

·         Damage or loss in transit

·         Local duties, taxes, or import fees

5.3 Delivery timelines are estimates only and are not contractually guaranteed.


 

6. Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellations

6.1 Due to the personalised nature of our products, all Bridal, Demi-Bespoke and Bespoke orders are final sale.

6.2 Emilia Wickstead does not offer cash or card refunds under any circumstances.

6.3 Orders cannot be cancelled or amended once production has commenced.


 

7. Estimated Hours & Pricing

7.1 Where pricing is based on design scope or estimated hours:

·         Quotes are non-binding until confirmed in writing and and remain valid for a period of 48 hours from the time of issuance, unless otherwise stated,

·         The final price may change if the scope evolves during production.

7.2 Quotes and discounts are non-transferable between clients.


 

8. Late Payment & Collections

8.1 All invoices are payable within the specified timeframe. Goods, including garments, will not be released until full payment has been received.

8.2 If a deposit is not paid on time, Emilia Wickstead may be unable to fulfil the order within the originally quoted timeline. If there is insufficient time remaining to complete the order under normal production conditions, this may result in additional rush fees, which the client agrees to pay.

8.3 If the final balance is not paid by the due date, Emilia Wickstead reserves the right to withhold delivery or release of the dress or goods until payment is received in full.

8.4 If it becomes necessary to engage a third-party collection agency or legal counsel to recover unpaid amounts, the client agrees to pay:

·         The outstanding balance in full

·         Any legal fees and costs incurred

·         Any collection agency charges


 

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 All designs, sketches, patterns, and finished garments are the intellectual property of Emilia Wickstead.

9.2 Any reproduction, distribution, or modification of designs without written consent is strictly prohibited.


 

10. Liability & Force Majeure

10.1 Emilia Wickstead is not liable for:

·         Delays caused by acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, or transportation issues

·         Fit issues due to changes in body measurements after initial fitting

·         Delays caused by client unavailability or non-compliance with fitting schedules


 

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of England and Wales, and all disputes shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
