Drawing inspiration from the astute lens of German-born, French photographer Gisèle Freund, the Emilia Wickstead Spring Summer 2025 collection explores the profound connection between the photographer and the lives of her subjects.

This collection pays homage to this duality of the public persona and private world, reflecting the complex layers of identity and emotion captured in Freund’s work; and the sartorial expression of the societies she observed. Often depicting herself in a bold, androgynous style, wearing ties and men’s clothing – the collection reimagines the tie, an article of clothing long associated with masculinity, authority and respect, bydeconstructing and washing it with pastel colours and chandelier-like embellishments, transforming
the article from a symbol of masculinity to a statement of versatility, self-expression and modernity for our woman.
